Community Development

The City Administration is committed to promoting the development of our diverse and thriving community by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment; and expanded economic opportunities for persons of low and moderate incomes including financial assistance to low-income homeowners. 


Economic Development

The Berwyn Development Corporation (BDC) markets Berwyn regionally and nationally as a prime business and leisure destination, and promotes Berwyn’s energy and culture to visitors and residents to create unique development opportunities for business.


Education

The City Administration is committed to supporting education equity for all students to develop valuable skills and knowledge to help them live a full life and contribute to our community and society.  The City has a diverse school community comprised of four school districts and two parochial schools.


Employment

The City Administration is committed to providing excellent service to the public in the most responsive, efficient, and effective manner. We strive to treat all people with dignity, respect, and fairness. Equal access to programs, services, and employment is available to all persons. 


Health and Wellness

The City Administration works with public and private health agencies in an effort to create an equitable, safe, resilient and healthy Berwyn. We promote health resources and vaccine clinics and support the Berwyn Health District in its efforts to provide access to health care options for Berwyn residents.


Safety

The Berwyn Police Department and Berwyn Fire Department are instrumental in providing public safety for residents and visitors in Berwyn, including City's planning of issues related to Homeland Security.


Senior Care

The Senior Services Department provides supportive services with professionalism and care to enhance the well-being of Berwyn’s elderly and disabled. Seasonal assistance programs for qualifying seniors are available, as well as mobility services that provide safe transportation to healthcare facilities, grocery stores, and social programming.


City Infrastructure Projects

The City Administration is committed to the improvement and modernization of the city’s public infrastructure through community planning and design to enhance the walkability and transportation routes in our city.
